RICHARD COHN, PhD, is a licensed Marriage Family Therapist with over 25 years of clinical experience. Since 1990, Dr. Cohn has researched the application of shamanic healing practices to psychotherapy. Those pursuits have led him to study the traditions of the Huichol Indians of Mexico, the Shuar of Ecuador, the Jaguar Shamans of the Amazon, the coastal shamans and the Q'uero of Peru. Dr. Alberto Villoldo has initiated him in the ancient Incan healing traditions as a Master Shaman. He has received the high rites from Don Manuel Quispe and other spiritual leaders of the Q'uero.
Dr. Cohn is expert at bridging the techniques of Western psychotherapy with indigenous practices. He is able to bring ancient wisdom forward in ways that help clients and students of shamanism integrate shamanic healings into their lives. His shamanic healing practice includes energy healing sessions to clear luminous body of dense energies and emotional blocks and the release of intrusive energies and entities. Traumatic events can cause part of the soul to leave the luminous body, which may create feelings of emptiness, fragmentation, disconnection, depression, as well as physical illness. The shaman uses soul retrieval to journey to other worlds to retrieve the fragmented parts of the soul and obtain information for the client's true purpose, hidden promises and gifts.

AMANDA FOULGER
Amanda Foulger is a shamanic teacher and practitioner based in Topanga, CA. LARRY KESSLER, MA
Larry Kessler spent a good part of the last fifteen years in Hawaii studying the ways of the ancient Hawaiians. In 1996, he was initiated by his kupua Kiaina'auaomaikalanihim into a lineage of kahuna that extends back twenty generations from Daddy Bray to before Kamehameha. After that, he spent another nine years working with other teachers and healers -- Papa Henry and Uncle George Naope of Hawaii, Papa Kahlua of Oahu, and John Kaimikaua of Molokai.
After his immersion in the Hawaiian system, he studied Core Shamanism through the Foundation for Shamanic Studies and graduated from Michael Harner's three-year program. What he learned there allowed him to penetrate deeper into the mysteries and power of the Hawaiian system. By merging the ancient Hawaiian practices with Core Shamanic techniques, he created a series of weekend workshops on Hawaiian Shamanism that build in power with a sequence of initiations into his lineage of Hawaiian mystics and healers. PATH OF THE HEART
Offered in Ojai, California, this workshop gives time and space to witness what is sacred - a person's own emotions and feeling states. Using ecstatic movement and a late night ritual, the work collapses the boundaries of the ego to free the authentic expressions of the self. The shamanic awakening invites areas that are blocked, protected or wounded to become portals into the spirit world. The first of the two rituals emphasizes emptying out the emotional block of grief.
