CUSTOM CEREMONIAL RATTLES

After 15 years of rattling for shamanic ceremonies, I was called to create rattles using only hand tools and locally grown canteen gourds. Handles are crafted from walnut, oak, cherry, birch or poplar limbs that have fallen near my home. The age, size and shell thickness of the gourds are carefully selected to provide clear percussive undertones and overtones and to keep the rattle lightweight so that it’s easy to use for long sessions. Each gourd is filled with seeds, tiny quartz crystals and other stones respectfully gathered from a dry riverbed. Before shipping, a ceremony is held to awaken the spirit of the rattle.

Medium size rattles are for individual sessions or small groups. Large rattles (7-9”) are for outdoor sessions or large groups. With proper care, these powerful rattles can last indefinitely. Cost varies from $80 to $150 each.

SACRED DRUMS, FOR THE SHAMANIC JOURNEY

We have prepared this CD with the highest quality equipment and studio facilities to accurately reproduce the sound and feel of the live drum. Five microphones were used to bring out the richness of the drum tones, capturing the subtle over and undertones. This CD contains several options for journeying, including a fifteen-minute double drum, a fifteen-minute rattle, and a thirty-minute single drum selection. A special feature of this CD is the ten-minute single drum track that can be programmed to create a personalized journey length.
